kaleidoscope 03 (survival)

Cling as she may to the comfort of sleep she could not stop herself from rousing. Sighing she moved her body to face skyward but rebelled agaisnt waking up by keeping her eyes shut. Only while asleep did Carol live out her dreams. When she slept, she saw herself whole again, her child, her home, the man she'd loved all her life, they were all there, together simultaniously. Her brows creased as her brain focused on one thing within the thought, the love of her life who'd abandonded her and in the act not only broke her heart beyond repair but took with him all hope of living a respectable life. A tear cascaded across her temple and into her hair. The was a shufle and a snore beside her, she smiled and turned -eyes open- to look at the center of her existance. The boy slept with his bum in the air and his knees tucked between the white sheets and his chest. His curls brown baby hair framed his face while his puckered lips wraped loosely around his thumb. There was a puddle of drool where his head lay against the bed. She smiled. Her little boy, he was only two and the absolute treasure of her life. James would never know his father, the thought hurt her deeply, but she vowed that her son would never need for anything. Looking past the sleeping bundle she noted the sun's glare through a slip in the curtains. They'd probably slept past ten and well into noon. She pulled the string just above her to ring for the maidservant and gently woke her son. It was saturday today which ment she'd be with Adam tonight. Adam was the man who'd bought her this home and kept her well providing her with all she desired in exchange for her favours. She'd hated it at first but now she'd come to accept what was. She knew nothing about him except his first name and his preferences in bed. She suspected he was married but it made no difference. After a hours of bathing in sweet scent, combing out her hair and all those other grooming rituals she lay on her own bed that was covered in expensive red silk sheets with only the fire burning in the fire place for light. He'd be here any minute, she looked down at herself and nodded once in approval. He would definetly love what she had on tonight, or rather what she did not. She pushed down the resentment she felt towards herself for doing this and blocked out all thoughts as Adam came waking through the door. Hours later as Adam dressed and left she rang for her bath. After scrumbing herself silly she slipped into her decent night clothes and went to sleep with her son in his room. This was her life now, she yawned and craddled the little boy closer and went into the land of dreams where the only man that touched her was the very same would abandoned her . . . tO bE cOntInUEd

Sins of the father

It was truly pretty speech, the man he had been would not have hesitated to answer the call but the creature he was now could not be bothered. "No." he barely registered the shock and dismay on the Queen's face before he turned his back on her to look upon the image on his cell wall.
"Please Astaad, we need you. There truly is no other person to lead a successful charge but you. Reconsider, we run out of time every passing minute." Her plea made, the woman currently considered Queen of the known world turned to leave barely keeping tears of frustration at bay.
Remaining as he was, Astaad continued his observation of the image upon his wall ignoring the fact that his cell door had been left a jar behind the little Queen. She did not know enough of him to understand that though she may offer it he was not the least bit tempted by the promise of freedom. His incarceration was his own doing, having walked into this cell over half a millennia ago and simply never le…

Wine Stains

Dab, Dab, Dab. She wasn't completely sure what she was doing would work but this needed to be taken care of. This was a white carpet after all. Was it paper towels or a cloth she was suppose to use? It was difficult to remember, everything was still a little hazy overwhelmed  as she was by the ringing in her ear among other sensations.

May she should rub rather than dab? 'Hopefully that wont spread the stain', she thought to herself as she raked her fuzzy brain trying her best to recall how she got the previous stains out. 'Next time' she thought, 'Maybe not on the couch'. Oh but the couch had been fun, more fun than the bed or the bath. She made a small moaning sound in the back of her throat, legs clenching at the assualt of memory.
'Maybe I should call mom and ask how to get rid of this', she thought to herself once she'd gotten her wayward thoughts back in line. That made her blush, her already flushed face turning brighter at the thought o…

Punch Drunk Love

It's all slow and mesmerisingly beautiful when you see it in the movies. There's always some whisper of a song in the air, wind blowing her hair just at the direction, as their eyes meet and their hearts beat loudly like out stretched hands reaching for each other... The sheer beauty of the moment when love discovers love. Boy meets girl, it's a beautiful beginning to a presumably beautiful love... It's a similar scenario, only so much better... My heart beats so loud it overwhelms the noise of the crowds shutting out all noise and bringing him into focus, sight on my target; the man looking right back at me, eye to eye I feel my whole being react as my hand reaches for him, every part of my being craving that connection... Wanting it so badly, my mind knows the cost of not succeeding yet all that matters in that moment is him and I... Myself and him. My soul ever so patient holds still for the moment of impact... Everything is in slow motion as my hand reaches it…
